A look back at PRSE 2025 in Amsterdam

CosmetoPack® II: Towards safer cosmetics, from packaging to consumer

For over a decade, the CosmetoPack® project has brought together players in the cosmetics and plastics industries around a major challenge: controlling the risks of migration between packaging and contents.

With CosmetoPack® II, the project is now entering a new phase, led by Polymeris, with a work program designed to produce concrete results, both technical and scientific, on the safety of cosmetic packaging.

This structuring project relies on a proven methodology and concrete results to answer a central question: how can we guarantee the safety of cosmetic packaging without compromising innovation, regulation and performance? From the definition of toxicological thresholds specific to cosmetics, to the development of test protocols adapted to the sector's formulations, CosmetoPack® II lays the foundations for a more responsible industry, better equipped to meet growing regulatory demands.

Launch of the European ASTER project

Opportunities for the textile and plastics industry and innovations in the high-altitude outdoor sector: follow the ASTER project

ASTER, a European project financed by the Interreg Alpine Space program, aims to support innovation in the plastics and textiles sectors, particularly through the development of high-altitude outdoor products.

Recipients of Incircular cascade financing have begun their projects

INCIRCULAR is a European project in which Polymeris is a partner, supporting innovation in the participating European regions. The project partners are working on the circularity of plastics in the household appliances sector. To support inter-regional innovation, the project has received funding (€360k) from the European Commission to be redistributed to 6 innovative SME projects.

Polymeris continues to expand internationally in a changing business environment

In an unstable international context, Polymeris is closely monitoring the evolution of US customs measures. Following the introduction of 25% tariffs on steel, aluminum and then on imports of automobiles and certain auto parts, the Trump administration has introduced an additional 10% tariff on U.S. imports from the European Union for a period of 90 days from April 9. This measure replaces an additional surtax of 20%, originally scheduled to take effect on the same date, but suspended for 90 days. Polymeris is planning two key events to support its members' international development.

Focus on the POLYMERIS Scientific Committee: its role and missions

The Scientific Committee is the cluster's nerve center for Research & Development. Its main mission is to build the technological roadmap, and bring it to life, thus justifying Polymeris' scope of expertise. It is made up of recognized academic and industrial experts who use their knowledge to identify and anticipate scientific, technical and technological issues of priority interest in the years ahead. These members are also called upon to appraise projects proposed by members, so that they can be submitted to the labeling committee for a hearing before being submitted to the public funding body.
